Vacancy: Marketing and Communications Assistant 

South Square are a leading commercial set of Chambers seeking a Marketing and Communications Assistant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing marketing, planning, communication and business development support and administration to Chambers and to individual barristers. 
  • Working closely with the Chambers Director to develop and implement Chambers’ marketing strategy.
  • Ensuring that the ‘South Square’ brand identity is consistently applied on all marketing materials.
  • Co-ordinating the development, production and distribution of promotional literature (e.g. newsletters, brochures etc.) and maintaining existing stocks.
  • Organising and promoting client seminars.
  • Planning and organising client events.
  • Co-ordinating the barristers’ entries in key legal directories.

Qualifications and Experience needed

  • 3+ years’ marketing/communications experience, ideally with professional services firms or in a business-to-business capacity.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent (not essential).
  • Ideally holds or is working towards a marketing/communications qualification (e.g. CIM, IDM), or is prepared to so qualify (with Chambers’ support).
  • Proficient in MS Office packages e.g. Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel (with an ability to manipulate and analyse data).
  • An understanding of print, production and design processes.
  • Confident in learning new IT applications (e.g. Meridian Law Connected IT application).
  • Experience of briefing and working with external marketing/design agencies.


Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 depending on experience.
