South Square has:
- Helped the increasing number of people in desperate need of legal assistance who cannot afford to pay for it and can not obtain legal aid.
- Supported our barristers to make use of the opportunities that pro bono work presents.
We are thrilled to have:
- Appointed a Pro Bono Champion
- Actioned pro bono work as a Chambers
- Organised a seminar on pro bono
- Reported on the pro bono completed
Advocate estimates that:
- 12 members of Chambers took on pro bono work in 2023
- 25% of our members took on pro bono work in 2023
- 50% of this work was completed through Advocate, the rest through other pro bono schemes
Charlotte Cooke, Daniel Judd and Rabin Kok have all completed pro bono work with Advocate in 2023.
Our Pro Bono Champion is Toby Brown.
South Square will be signing up to Advocate’s Chambers Pro Bono Framework again in 2024.
