Celebrating Our Barristers on the 2025 Pro Bono Recognition List

We are delighted to announce that ten of our barristers have been honoured on the 2025 Pro Bono Recognition List, published today. This prestigious list recognises solicitors and barristers across England and Wales who have dedicated over 25 hours to pro bono work in the past year.

The Recognition List is sponsored by the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee and endorsed by the Lady Chief Justice, with support from the Law Society, Bar Council, and all major pro bono legal organisations. It highlights the invaluable contributions of individual barristers who provide essential legal assistance to those in need.

Featured Barristers:

  • Adam Al-Attar KC
  • David Alexander KC
  • Imogen Beltrami
  • Toby Brown
  • Paul Fradley
  • Marcus Haywood
  • Madeleine Jones
  • Rabin Kok
  • Georgina Peters
  • William Willson

In conjunction with this achievement, South Square Chambers is reaffirming its commitment to the Chambers Pro Bono Framework, which is dedicated to enhancing access to justice. As part of this initiative, we will:

  • Appoint Pro Bono Champions within our team.
  • Undertake pro bono work collectively as a Chambers.
  • Organise seminars to promote pro bono initiatives.
  • Report on our pro bono activities and impact.

Partnering with Advocate, the Bar’s national pro bono charity, we are committed to continuing our meaningful impact by supporting individuals who lack access to legal aid.
